    Japan Trend Shop has started selling the Water Powered Torch. The cool factor of this torch is that it uses AA NoPoPo hydrogen-powered batteries (included) that can be recharged using beer, sake, cola, or even urine.

    Brewery’s Beer-Making Powers Hospital

    Well if this isn’t irony I don’t know what is. The City Brewery in La Crosse, Wisconsin has now begun a heat and power project that utilizes methane gas created at the brewery and converts it into clean energy to run nearby Gundersen Lutheran hospital. Methane from the brewery process is captured to run a biogas Jenbacher engine that in turn produces electricity that is then sent back to the grid

    Philadelphia Has Other Green Things Besides the Eagles

    I was born in Philadelphia and grew up eating those great Philly Cheese Steaks from Pat’s and the second best in the world from a little hole-in-the-wall sandwich shop around the corner from where I lived.  There were vegetarians back in the 50’s and 60’s, but they mainly stayed away from the steak shops, or more commonly, broke their vow of no meat to satisfy their own tummy and taste buds.
