    Subsequent Stumbling Session Scheduled

The topic of our next Session has been announced and it’s Stumbling Home. Our host for Session #34, James Davoli at Two Parts Rye, describes what he means by that: It’s time to give a shout out to your favorite watering hole. How good are the beers

Happy Hour: Buffalo Bill’s Pumpkin Ale

These days, my street isn’t the only thing covered with pumpkins; so is my kitchen. I’ve been using the gourds in everything from moist pumpkin bread to chicken pumpkin stew , and so I decided it was high time I enjoyed it in ale form, too

Bourbon marinated pork on the grill

Once again this post was inspired by Tina . I had never made a bourbon marinade. I used a few of the ingredients from Tina’s recipe but then did my own thing once I cruised around the net looking at variations.

I Played A Show Then Watched Lucero

Tonight I played my last show ever at the Uptown Bar with my band Spacewolf. We played from 10:15 – 10:45 and then immediately after loading out I hauled ass over the Varsity Theater with my friends Kat and Lisa to watch Lucero

    George Wendt’s Favorite Chicago Bars

In a move completely out of character for a man who made his Hollywood name sitting on a barstool, George Wendt has released a suds-soaked pseudo memoir, Drinking with George: A Barstool Professional’s Guide to Beer . Wendt is a Chicago native who grew up in Beverly in the 50’s and 60’s and met his wife, Bernadette Birkett (the sister of DuPage County State’s Attorney Joe Birkett), while sharing the Second City stage.

    Simple Woman’s Daybook: October 19, 2009

For Today : October 19, 2009 Outside my window …It is a gloriously bright, sunshiny day!! I praise the Lord for the sun’s rays. It is cool, but it seems warmer just being able to see the sun! We had six days last week without even a hint of sunlight at all.

Some Nuggets of Wisdom for Self-Improvement

There is nothing more enticing than a hot cup of capuccino, ice-cold beer, and a shot of your favorite brandy after a hard day at work. I confess, I am guilty of succumbing to these tasty pleasures. Would you be able to say to no to your colleague who is inviting you for “a drink”

My favorite day of the year…… Texas/OU

No, it isn’t my birthday.  Or July 4.  Or Thanksgiving.  Or Christmas.  It is a Saturday in October.  Before the game is like Christmas Eve when you’re young.  You don’t know what you are going to get. You want to shake the boxes.
