    DON’T FORGET BEER & POT-LITICS!

Long Beach City Prosecutor Tom Reeves, whose recent opinion piece on LBPost.com equated medical marijuana dispensaries with “a drug dealer standing on a corner” and disputed the notion of the businesses as caregivers, will expand upon and defend those positions tonight at Beer & Politics. On the other side? Greggory Moore, a Long Beach freelance writer whose stories on medical marijuana—about dispensary raids in Long Beach and political considerations in  Signal Hill —have appeared in

Melbourne Cup parties for those who left it (almost) too late

Let’s be blunt: on Melbourne Cup day most of you are going to drink cheap champagne while watching the office telly and crossing your fingers you’ll win the sweepstakes that Beryl from accounting set up. Hey, that’s how I’ve spent most of my Melbourne Cup days. However, for those who plan on celebrating in style we were going to provide a long list of cool party venues but, quite frankly, the thought bored the hell out of us and we put it off

    TNA Impact! Madness 10/22/09

23Oct Bound For Glory was legendary! Without a doubt, this PPV put all WWE products to shame. Words can’t do justice to the impressive—if not suicidal—nature of these matches. It will be interesting to see who is able to wrestle tonight because bodies were crippled last Sunday

Tasty Takes – Roast Duck, and Tips on Ordering Dim Sum

Emerald Restaurant is one of my go-to spots for breakfast.  Dim sum is not as easy to find in San Diego as in Los Angeles, but if you want to avoid the traffic, parking fees and the chaos of a huge dim sum restaurant, go to Emerald. Another advantage of Emerald is that it opens at 9 am on Saturday and Sunday, even though it may look closed.  If you’re like me and my husband, you know that there aren’t too many restaurants on Convoy Street open at that hour.  We’ve spent several mornings driv

Well, Mrs. Warwas and I made it back from the motherland (Minnesota) safe and sound and are working to get ourselves settled back into the daily routines.  Being back in Minny was a very good time that included bowling and beer with old pals, a nice dinner at Chianti Grill with family, watching one of my best friends get married at the beautiful Northwestern Chapel, celebrating my mom’s birthday, doing some paranormal investigating (yes, I’m a nerd) with my brother at the Mounds Theatre, and ove

PopCap trademarks YetiTrain, colour me intrigued

It’s not often that we make up stories based entirely around one little piece of information… okay so maybe we do it quite often but that’s no the point. PopCap has just recently trademarked the name, YetiTrain, for an upcoming game of some sort

    Scanwich: Beer Battered Catfish

I honestly don’t know how I feel about this one. I’m sure I would try it but the thought of eating a fish that looks like deformed cat is just gross to me
