Craft Beer: what image do we want?

Every so often, I feel obligated to turn ‘curmudgeon’ on you guys. More often than not, it is usually brought on by the Brewers’ Association . While I love what these guys do for the most part, some of their marketing/press releases throw me for a loop: that press release, the declaration of beer independence, and this video.

Dunn on the Run: Facebook is fun, but be careful

President John Dunn (Chyn Wey Lee/Western Herald) I enjoy being on Facebook. As of last night, I have approximately 3,000 friends.  Most of my friends are WMU students, so that makes the connection special

Climate change ‘to hit food prices’

Soaring food prices could leave UK consumers forking out almost £6.50 for a loaf of bread and more than £18 for a pint of beer by 2030 unless urgent action is taken to avert dangerous climate change, environmentalists have claimed. A study for Friends of the Earth examining how warming temperatures could affect food supplies

    Pint of beer? That’ll be £18 please….

£6.50 for a loaf of bread, £7 for a box of cornflakes and £18 for a pint of beer – these are the eye watering prices we could face in 2030 unless urgent action is taken to prevent dangerous climate change, Friends of the Earth has suggested.

    I Did Lie to Isa

Second time I lied to her. We were talking on the phone, I love her but I wanted really very much to go get my beer. Meanwhile I was trying to dry the condensation off the glass in my front door, so I could put up the plastic storm window over it.  Squeak squeak squeak.  Isa’s cell phone was cutting out constantly, but she shot back that there was a noise, much like when I try to do dishes while we talk

Being safe in the big city

Let’s be honest, crime doesn’t just happen in the big city, it happens everywhere. And being a single girl living in the city without a car, sometimes walking home after dark or bar time, you always have to be careful. Friends and I have a strict system when we split from the group after dark.
