    Here come the Yankees!

I grew up in a “baseball house.” As in, there was a pitching machine and batting cage in my backyard. My brother played Little League and American Legion ball as a kid and my father coached, as well.

Things to consider while wondering why we never saw our honorary team captain, Elton John: *There were rumors that Tampa was considering signing Joey Galloway to give them some pregame intel on the Patriots. But the deal fell through when they realized he wasn’t any more familiar with the Pats playbook than they were. *Unquestionably, this was Brandon Merriweather’s best game as a pro

    Not tonight.

I don’t feel like writing tonight. I don’t feel like writing about my lost friendship or my supposed victory in the situation. I don’t feel like writing about how blessed I am to have my car back.

    Autumn in Cooperstown

As not only the birthplace of baseball but also the birthplace of the American novel, Cooperstown, New York (named for the family that spawned America’s first great novelist, James Fenimore Cooper) is an endless source of inspiration.  After last year’s visit in early Spring, I decided I wanted to attempt making a yearly pilgrimage to the place of Glimmerglass and Doubleday, leaves and lakes, ballplayers and writers, Coopers and Mohicans.  Mid-Autumn is an intoxicating sight to behold in Coopers
