    District Five

Mike Byrd introduces us to a new blog devoted to “truth-telling” about the recall election of Pam Murray: The first installment alleges that CM Murray has attempted to rescue merchants suspected of selling “crack pipe craft kits” from beer board judgments to suspend their beer licenses. CM Murray is also accused of blaming neighbors who attempted to stop the drug trade in District 5 for driving out businesses.

Very High Dude Trying To Buy A Beer

This video got famous recently, it shows a very intoxicated dude going on a convenience to buy some beer. The title suggests he is drunk but on a closer look that’s no alcohol, but some crazy drug like ketamine.

    The Beer Hog

On Friday night in Hayward Wisconsin, a 125-pound black bear, wandered into a local grocery store and went straight for the goods. The bear climbed 12 feet up on to the liquor shelf, in the beer cooler and sat for an hour, until wildlife officials arrived and tranquilized the animal.

China – snacks and street food

China wasn’t all multi-dish meals and dumplings, contrary to how it must seem from the previous post.  Oh, no.  There were also breakfasts.  And snacks.  Many, many snacks… My favourite snack in Shanghai was translated as “meat cake”, which sounds rather unappetising.  Imagine a nice, juicy meatball encased in flaky pastry – that’s the best I can do by way of explanation.  They were sold streetside throughout town.

    On Loyalty

I spent much of the latter part of last week doing one of the things I do best (and enjoy most): being a thorn in the side of lockstep thinking. Even though I’m too much of a speck to truly change anything in this instance, the least I can do is challenge the assumptions people put forth as “common sense” (or even “commonly agreed upon”). In my experience, it is very easy in marketing meeting type situations for people to blindly acquire and use the language presented as their baseline
