So, the Santa Monica super-mall behemoth is clearly not on time , but what else is new in plywood these days. Santa Monica Place , the mall by Third Street Promenade that was designed by Frank Gehry in 1980 then closed last year for a remodel, is now set to open late 2010

Emerald Restaurant is one of my go-to spots for breakfast. Dim sum is not as easy to find in San Diego as in Los Angeles, but if you want to avoid the traffic, parking fees and the chaos of a huge dim sum restaurant, go to Emerald.
