Happy Hour: Buffalo Bill’s Pumpkin Ale

These days, my street isn’t the only thing covered with pumpkins; so is my kitchen. I’ve been using the gourds in everything from moist pumpkin bread to chicken pumpkin stew , and so I decided it was high time I enjoyed it in ale form, too

    Trick-or-Treat Cookies

My husband does not like sugar cookies.  No way.  But he does like these Trick-or-Treat cookies a lot.  The dough is soft and pliable and full of Fall–honey, molasses, raisins, and spices. For the cookies in the pictures, I used half whole wheat flour and omitted the raisins (didn’t have any on hand).  The only problem was that the dough was so tasty that we didn’t end up baking very many cookies.  (Good thing I froze half of the dough for later!) This is a nice alternative to the norm

Bourbon marinated pork on the grill

Once again this post was inspired by Tina . I had never made a bourbon marinade. I used a few of the ingredients from Tina’s recipe but then did my own thing once I cruised around the net looking at variations.
