BrewDog declares war on Schorschbrau with Sink the Bismarck!

(Aberdeen, SCOTLAND) – In the nuclear arms race for world’s strongest beer, BrewDog has reclaimed the title with its 41% ABV IPA, Sink the Bismarck! Within the last week, I wrote about how Schorschbrau trumped the 32% ABV Brewdog Tactical Nuclear Penguin with a 40% ABV beer . I was surprised when Brewdog’s James Watt tweeted the post out to his followers proclaiming that “Tactical Nuclear Penguin is dead.” Makes sense now. Watt knew he had an announcement coming two days later.

    Simpsons Alarm Clocks

Before I get into today’s post about a subject near and dear to me, Simpsons Alarm Clocks , first a quick word about the upcoming switch to daylight savings time in 2009. If you live in Europe, you’ve already switched over to Daylight Savings Time, but if you live in the United States, don’t forget to fall back one hour this Sunday, November 1st at 2:00 a.m. Most modern PCs automatically update their time settings to Daylight Savings Time online, and this is what enables you to watch the

The Life and Death of a Ham Sandwich

There was once a little old woodsman, in his mid 80’s, he was a Lonesome old man.  He had a tiny shack made of twigs mud and bark.  The man would fish in the morning, and collect water that he would boil to make it pure for drinking; He made things out of wood that he would chop every day.  The man was a good craftsman.  He had statues and trinkets, that he made himself.  He also built furniture like shelves and chests to keep the things that he made in.  He used more than wood in

Making The ‘Significant Objects’ Project… Even More Significant

Back in July, we commented on the Significant Objects project where 100 authors are writing up 100 stories involving 100 various trinkets — and then selling those stories along with the associated items on eBay for a tidy profit.

    I guess I am a skinflint

A regular Ebeneezer Scrooge.  A tightwad.  Or, in the words of my son, “As tight as the bark on a damn tree.”I deserve this how?Long time readers will know I am in semi retirement – I quit being a propietor of my own business, done with the rat race, headaches, contracts, worries – cashed in my chips, socked it away, and am now living off of the savings I didn’t lock down plus a 9-5 for cash flow, since I have “Fuck you” money. It’s been good.  Re-enrolled in school for night/net classes.  But I

Bourbon marinated pork on the grill

Once again this post was inspired by Tina . I had never made a bourbon marinade. I used a few of the ingredients from Tina’s recipe but then did my own thing once I cruised around the net looking at variations.
