When visiting Japan sampling the cuisine has to be at the top of your list of things to do. There is far more to Japanese food than sushi and unless you have visited an Izakaya you cannot claim to have experienced Japanese eating and drinking culture. Izakaya are a type of pub that also offers a range of tasty dishes to accompany your drinking and good spirits.
