    Mid-Autumn Memories

The Mid-Autumn Festival is celebrated on the 15th day of the eight month of the Chinese lunar calendar which falls in the midst of autumn and hence its name. A day where we used to pray to the moon with the burning of incense and offerings of special delicacies .  We, the children(as this was a long time ago) would light our lanterns in various animal shapes while in the hope that we don’t burn down the poor animal or at the worst the whole house!  The more adventurous like the writer herself
